For those of you who already know the beauty and simplicity of sewing with a vintage machine we will
be selling restored and ready to use machines on this site. For those of you who may have your Grannies machine sitting
sadly in a shed and don't really know what to do with it we can service and restore to full use or just to display.
For anyone who likes to sew either just beginning of very experienced and have never used a vintage machine then please please
think about trying one. These old cast iron machines are beautiful, practical and built to last and last and last.
Once you sew with an old Singer you will never look back and it will be the machine you turn to for most things. They
can sew through thick layers without breaking a sweat, sew a perfect even straight stitch and freemotion quilt like a dream.
There are a variety of vintage sewing machines that are good for different types of sewing and I will be building up a catalogue
of machine information over the coming weeks. We will also be emphasising the use of Eco-sewing machines that do not
need electricity to run. Hand Cranks and Treadle machines may seem like they belong in a museum but I can assure you
they are machines of the future. If you are eco minded then you may want to learn how to sew at similar speeds to modern
electric machines without having to plug anything in. We will be offering a learning day at The Work Shop in Crouch
End North London devoted to hand cranks and treadles and teaching people how to use these fabulous machines. Keep thispage
bookmarked for more information coming soon
